Construction of homes, garages and extensions with SIP walls and timber frame

Structural insulated panels (SIPs) are a high performance building system for residential and light commercial construction. The panels consist of an insulating foam core sandwiched between two structural facings, typically oriented strand board (OSB).The result is a building system that is extremely strong, energy efficient and cost effective. Building with SIPs will save you time, money and labor.

ABOUT

Timber framing and "post-and-beam" construction are traditional methods of building with heavy timbers, creating structures using squared-off and carefully fitted and joined timbers with joints secured by large wooden pegs and modern  heavy duty hardware joinery.

What we love about working with heavy timber is actually seeing the structure being built, people can appreciate the craftsmanship in a well designed timber connection. . There is something more appealing about being on a site with a timber structure than your average concrete or steel frame. For a start most of the hard work has already been done in terms of design and coordination and you're not frantically trying to correct mistakes. The sites can also be so quiet at times that you can almost wonder if any work is happening: crews are typically small and workers use simple battery powered tools.
